On the evening of Thursday 15 October, we will be hosting our "Helping Your Child Succeed" event for Year 11 students and their families.
We know that Year 11 is an important and often challenging year, with examinations, key milestones, and important post-16 decisions ahead. This event is designed to provide both students and parents with practical guidance, support, and resources to help make the year as successful as possible.
From 4:00 pm till 6.00 pm, a range of activities, talks, and resources will be available in the school dining hall, including:
- "How to Revise" workshops led by experienced staff, covering effective note-taking techniques and how to create and use flashcards and mind maps.
- Revision packs available for purchase.
- Subject-specific revision guides on sale.
- Representatives from local colleges, sixth forms, and apprenticeship providers, who will be available to answer questions about post-16 pathways and courses.
All workshops and talks are free to attend. Revision materials and subject guides can be purchased on the evening via SCOPAY or cash. Please refer to the attached flyer for further information about the revision packs available.
We have also attached a list of open events being held by local colleges, sixth forms, and training providers throughout the year ( I will update this and resend it through out the year). We strongly recommend booking places as early as possible, as some of the most popular courses and events can become fully subscribed quickly.
We look forward to welcoming you on 15 October and working together to support your child throughout this important year.
If you have any questions or queries about next steps please do not hesitate to get in touch.
