Year 9 students completed their first session of the British Canoeing Discover Paddle Award with Adventure Access at Seaham Marina yesterday. The students braved the North Sea to take part in stand-up paddleboarding and kayaking activities.
The programme enables students to work on becoming an independent paddler for a fun and safe time on the water. It also helps develop an understanding of the factors which affect paddling, improve decision making, build practical skills and build confidence in the water. Everyone is looking forward to the next session!
