Past school sporting stars

Recently we were contacted by Mr Morton, who taught here at our school from 1975 to 1980 and worked closely with the boys' football team.

As the class of 1980 are approaching 40 years since leaving school, we would like to celebrate some of the sporting success they went on to achieve.

Twins Colin and Kieth Oakley went on to become professional footballers for Sheffield United and Crystal Palace, following in their father’s footsteps of being a goalkeeper for Hartlepool United. Their brother-in-law Alan followed suit and played for both Sunderland and Newcastle as a striker.

Malcom Davison, who sadly passed away in 2017, played for Southampton for 16 years before joining the police force, where Mr Morton also continued his career after teaching.

The group plan to have a reunion in September to come together and reminisce and celebrate their achievements.
