This morning, Year 9 girls attended an inspiring session on female empowerment named: Girl Power!
The session focused on the many issues of women around the world. Students discussed careers, stereotypes and catcalling and were educated on feminism and sexual health.
The girls had a fantastic time as they used posters to redefine what it means to ‘act like a girl’. Using prompts students delivered messages such as
’I’m a girl and I like rugby’
‘I’m a girl and I don’t wear make up’
’I’m a girl and I love gaming.’
The session for male students - ‘Let’s hear it for the boys’ will take place soon and we hope it will be just as fun and inspiring.
