Congratulations to the 18 students who graduated this week from the Brilliant Club scholar programme at Newcastle University.
Over the past six weeks lectures have been taking place after school, led by university professors, to help students write a 2000 word mini-dissertation.
The student's research included exploring housing tax in the UK and abroad as well as the effects of photochemical smog on the environment.
The experience gave Year 9 and 10 students a taste of life at university - well done.
