Students venture to Spain!

A group of Year 8 and 9 students have just returned from an exciting trip to Spain as part of another Erasmus project.

After landing in Palma airport on Sunday at around 9pm, students made their way to the hosting school in a small town called Sineu.

On their first day, students spent the morning getting to know the children from other schools before taking a coach into Palma where they had a guided tour and visited the government headquarters.

On Tuesday, they went to Albufeira National Park and had lunch in the nature reserve. On the afternoon they travelled to Son Real where they walked the Necropolis, an active archaeological site right next to the sea.

Wednesday was a busy day as it was the festival for Sant Antoni. On the morning students took part in a folk dancing lesson and learned about the unique musical instruments used. They had a typical Sineu barbeque for lunch which consisted of sobrassada (a type of sausage) with different sauces. On the afternoon they visited the market before travelling to Sa Pobla where there was another barbeque, dancing, music and fireworks.

On Thursday, after a lovely lie in, students visited Valldemossa, Deia and Soller, three very beautiful towns.

On their last day, students gave presentations about what they had learned. They also talked about life in England, as foreign students will get a chance to visit Shotton Hall in the near future.

All in all, it sounds like a fantastic trip. See photos below - apparently, Mr Kell LOVES napping!
