A group of thoughtful students brightened up the Hawthorns Care Centre yesterday by volunteering to read stories to the elderly residents.
Half of the students visited the dementia unit during their monthly tea party and the others visited the residential unit to read at their bedsides.
Miss Pounder commented: "Students really enjoyed speaking to the residents and found reading to them very rewarding."
The residents enjoyed the visit so much that they have requested that our students come back regularly!
