We are delighted to announce that after winning the East Durham Secondary School contribution to Sport and Physical Activity Award in November, we have gone onto win the same award for the whole of County Durham.
The annual Active Durham Sport and Physical Activity Awards honours individuals, coaches, volunteers, clubs and schools whose exceptional work helps people of all ages and abilities to access sport and physical activity.
The awards ceremony, held at the Gala Theatre in Durham City, saw The Academy at Shotton Hall awarded for their Secondary School Contribution to Sport & Physical Activity.
The award recognises our brilliant GCSE PE results and our keen focus on encouraging all students to participate in PE for fun and enjoyment.
Mrs Mason, Head of PE, said: "We are delighted to win this award, it is fantastic for our PE team to be recognised for their hard work and commitment that goes into providing as many opportunities as we do for our students."
