After years of devotion to sport, aspiring athlete, Tom Brumwell in Year 11, is trying out for the Team GB rowing team in February.
We've always known Tom as an avid swimmer, and it was only last year, after a knee injury, that he decided to take up rowing briefly to strengthen his knee. But, after being spotted at a rowing competition for his talent and remarkable height (6 foot 7!), he decided to take up the sport permanently.
Since then, Tom started to train six times a week with Durham Rowing Club on top of his swimming training seven times a week. If you are wondering how he manages to fit it all in, well... he gets up at 4.30am most mornings to train before school. Wow!
Tom is planning on attending a rowing college in Gloucester next year and aspires to become an athlete. We look forward to watching you on TV in a few years - let us know how you get on in February.
