Katy in Year 9 has surprised us this week by revealing she has a secret talent which has landed her in the running to compete in the final of the Genfactor singing competition.
Katy, who attends singing lessons every week, has kept her talent low profile at school, with only her close friends knowing about it... until now anyway! Katy passed her first audition a few weeks ago and, after a second audition this week, she will find out in the next few days if she is in the final.
The Genfactor is Sunderland's renowned talent contest organised annually by Gentoo. The competition is an opportunity for young people living in Sunderland to showcase their talents, build confidence and grow.
The final will take place at the end of April in front of a packed audience at Rainton Meadows. Best of luck Katy!
