Umpiring course completed

A group of 11 energetic girls in Years 8, 9 and 10 were awarded today after completing the All England Netball Get Into Officiating Course.

The 11 girls play netball for the academy's teams and were chosen to complete the course after expressing an interest in umpiring - an official who watches a game or match closely to enforce the rules.

During the six-week course, the girls learnt about the role of the umpire, how to score a game, how to umpire a game and the many different rules it entails.

A massive thank you to their course tutor, Ailsa Hall, who has run the sessions each week.
