A group of Year 5 pupils dived into the exciting world of 'pi' today to celebrate Pi Day (and we don't mean the edible kind!).

Pi Day is an annual celebration of the mathematical constant π (pi), a number used to work out the diameter of a circle.

The group investigated circumference and diameter, learnt the Circle Song and completed calculations using pi. Then, after memorizing pi up to 30 digits, they decorated delicious cookies with the number before, of course, eating them!

The visit from Year 5 pupils was part of our ongoing transition programme that makes moving to secondary school easier thanks to regular visits.

Well done to our fantastic Year 5 pupils and thank you to Mrs Eddy for running the session.
