Our Year 11 students hosted their very own afternoon tea event 'Tea is Served', as part of their hospitality and catering GCSE last Thursday.
As part of the students’ practical assessment they sucessfully completed everything from making the dishes, designing the room layout and serving the customers. They got a real taste of the industry, being on their feet from 8.45am – 2.45pm, but it was all worth it!
Our lovely teaching staff popped along to enjoy sandwiches, cakes, Eton mess, scones and some rather delicious bubbly… alcohol free, of course! There was also an amazing looking cake (layered mango and raspberry sponge cake, with chocolate soil sprinkles and mint garnish) that would give Mary Berry a run for her money!
