Over the last couple of weeks, our Year 9 enterprise class have enjoyed inspiring talks from a variety of businessmen and women including;

  • Scott Barron, owner of a construction company
  • Callum Donnely, personal trainer
  • John Robson from KNS Automotive
  • Carly Pearson who runs her own business and works at the Academy
  • Tariq Mahmood, Subway franchises owner
  • Alex Foreman, owner of a recycling company.

The class are currently completing a BTEC Tech Awards in Enterprise and in the first unit of work, students have to compare two local enterprises. They have to look at the services, activities and aims of the business as well as what entrepreneurial characteristics have made their businesses successful.

A massive thank you to Mrs Stewart for organising the visits and thank you to our visitors  - you've certainly inspired our students!
