Well done to savvy students Lauren Robinson and Kate Cowan who raised an amazing £147.65 for Macmillan Cancer Support after organising a charity football match.
The Year 11 girls worked together over the summer to arrange the 'pay to play' charity match using their initiative to contact local businesses for their support. As a result they had trophies donated, a free sports venue, money donated for kits and they even contacted the mayor of Ferryhill, Peter Atkinson, who came along to hand out certificates to the winning team.
Police cadet, Kate and her family raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support every year and in the past have done bake sales and charity auctions; this year was their biggest event yet.
Well done girls - what a fantastic achievement.
