Massive thank you to all the staff and students who have once again amazed us with their kindness and generosity for their significant donations for our local foodbank.
For the last few years, the Academy has donated large amounts of food to the East Durham Trust's foodbank at Christmas but, after a phone call from them a couple of weeks ago, we found out that the they also struggle during the summer holidays. Many families turn to them for help due to the lack of free school meals at this time resulting in an even bigger demand than usual.
Staff and students managed to fill the store room (and the meeting room) at East Durham Trust's again today where all of the food donated will be a huge help to our local community.
If you can spare any food, they always need donations. Take your food (not fresh or frozen) along to Community House, Yoden Rd, Peterlee SR8 5DP.
