36 bright Year 10 students participated in The Scholar’s Programme with Durham University and the Brilliant club.
Students took part in university style tutorials in groups of six, with PhD researchers before working with a PhD researcher to complete a university style assignment. Out of the 33 assignments submitted, 24% achieved either a 1st or a 2:1 - pretty impressive considering they are six years younger than any graduates.
Not only was the project a fantastic way to inspire students to go to university but it also built up confidence, improved communication skills (verbal and written) and improved study skills.
Well done to all of you.
