Girls bring home the trophy!

Our sporty under 13 girls cricket team who recently beat the competition at the School Games competition at Maiden Castle.

The Shotton Hall team were representing Easington district after beating local schools in a previous competition. They competed against other schools in the county who had won their district competitions including: Chester-le-Street, Derwentside, Durham, Sedgefield, Wear Valley and Teesdale.

The girls team, made up of one Year 8 and nine Year 7 students, won all but one of their games and qualified for the bronze medal play off match. This was a tense match against Fyndoune who batted first scoring 89 runs from 7 overs. The girls rose to their challenge and won on the last ball of the match, taking a quick single to finish with a score of 90.

All students involved were a credit to the school and were gracious in victory - well done girls!
