Thank You Letter Awards

Two Year 7 students have been shortlisted for the Thank You Letter Awards in a national competition that saw over 40,000 entries from 200 schools across the country.

The competition for schools and organisations across the UK encourages 5–16 year olds to explore who they are grateful to and write them a letter of thanks. We opened up the competition internally in the English department and awarded ten winners (pictured), who each received a certificate and a book voucher.

Out of the ten internal winners, we chose five letters to submit to the national competition, coordinated by Birmingham University. Two of these entries were shortlisted for the finals.

On Wednesday the two finalists, Mia and Lydia, will be attending an awards ceremony at the University of Birmingham. There will be a guest speaker presenting the awards and the final winners will be announced - last year the guest was an Olympic Gold medalist!

Best of luck girls and well done to all students who took part.
