Shotton Hall remembers

Tomorrow we will take part in a two minute silence to mark the end of the First World War and to remember those who paid the price for our freedom.

In 1919, King George V introduced the concept of the two minute silence, saying: "At the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month, there may be a brief space of two minutes, a complete suspension of all our normal activities."

Last year The Royal British Legion released a film showing celebrities holding poppies to their lips after a survey claimed 38% of the population did not plan to observe the silence on November 11. Our students have put together a video emulating the Royal British Legion's campaign to remind everyone to stop and think about those who laid down their lives for us.
