What do you remember most about your time at Shotton Hall?

My teachers and how supportive they were in the lead up to exams. I remember thinking I was going to be so stressed in Year 11, but my teachers were always reminding us of how capable we were and that our hard work would pay off, and that really alleviated the pressure and I don’t think I’ll ever forget the final lessons with my teachers.

What has been the highlight of your life so far?

There have been so many amazing things, I’m not sure that I could choose just one. I think just having the opportunity to travel to new places is a big highlight, from places like London and Edinburgh, to Paris, Rome and Krakow. I hope to keep travelling to new places whenever I can! Having a long summer break is definitely something I’m going to take advantage of whilst I have it!

How did your time at Shotton Hall prepare you for where you are now?

Shotton Hall taught me how to manage stress and the most efficient ways for me to revise, which was immeasurably helpful for my A-Levels. Beyond exams, it gave me so much more confidence in myself and prepared me for such a range of things, from how to write an email properly, to how to speak to a room full of people, to just how to be a good friend. School also ignited my love for literature! I never really had a favourite subject until I started GCSE English and I completely fell in love with it, so that’s why I’m on the path I am now!

What are your future plans and ambitions?

After having completed my degree, I am ultimately aiming to go into teaching, so that I can share my love for English and hopefully support students the way that my teachers supported me!
