A group of keen Year 9 scientists took to Durham Univerity for the day to take part in the Durham University Schools' Science Festival.
Students spent the morning engaged in scientific activities including identifying bird calls, testing how lava flows, making slime, operating nanobots and building and testing their own wind turbines. Students had the opportunity to speak to students at different stages of their studies and learn firsthand about subjects such as natural sciences, volcanology and ornithology as well as other opportunities they have had whilst studying.
