NQT appropriate body and support

We provide a service to schools as an Appropriate Body to externally assess NQTs across the three terms of the year and for their final assessment.

Our assessors have a wealth of primary and secondary experience and will provide support and quality assurance visits to both mentors and NQTs in the assessment process.

Last year, 100% of our Appropriate Body NQTs successfully completed their induction year, leaving ready and fully prepared to enjoy the rewards and challenges of a career in teaching.

We are now offering a comprehensive package of advice, guidance and practical, hands-on mentoring and support to develop and nurture new teachers. Designed and delivered by outstanding ITT providers, Shotton Hall SCITT, our bespoke programme will help your NQTs get of­ to the best possible start in their teaching careers.

Drawing on the collective knowledge and experience of dozens of outstanding teachers and senior leaders, we can provide your NQTs with the framework they need for a valuable and successful induction year including:

Excellence in mentoring

We have the highest expectations of NQTs and believe this can only be achieved through mentors who have the highest expectations of themselves in their role, with a clear vision of excellence. To enable this, we deliver high quality mentor training to those new to the role and those requiring specific support with our NQT Appropriate Body programme, fully underpinned be the DfE ITT Mentor Standards that inform support to early careers teachers.
