About our teaching school alliance

Susan McDonnell

Susan joined what was then, Shotton Hall School governing body, as a parent governor in 2006 and when her son, Ryan, started at the school in Year 7.

Due to external commitments, Susan stood down as a governor early in 2015 but she continues to support the school as a Trust Director, a role she feels privileged to hold.

She is a strong ambassador for the school and is immensely proud of all it has achieved and continually strives to achieve, as it provides outstanding education to young people in our area.

Susan is an active member of the local community and supports residents with any problems or issues that affect them and where they live and in particular, some of the more elderly residents in the community. She works closely with the local community policing team, specifically in the area of tackling anti-social behaviour and she is also a neighbourhood watch co-ordinator. She is a seasoned campaigner and will convene public meetings and opposition groups if there is sufficient strength of feeling amongst the majority of residents and businesses over a particular issue or development.
