Health and social care

Health and social care

Health and social care is first and foremost a topic which builds the key skills and understanding of anyone who wants to work with or help people in their future careers.

It provides the building blocks required to allow pupils to understand how people grow and develop throughout the various life stages. This knowledge will not only help you understand others but maybe also yourself.

Pupils also learn about the different needs of individuals throughout their lives and the roles of the various organisations which are there to meet these needs such as the National Health Service.

We study lots of people ranging from infants right through to old age identifying the changes they go through and what they need in order to develop throughout life.

I want to work with children when I am older and health and social care is giving me a better understanding of what children need to help them grow and what I can do to help them develop.
